The Dallas Cowboys (4-7) are coming off a massive win over the Washington Commanders (7-5) on Sunday. They’ll have a chance to get two wins in less than a week by taking on the New York Giants on Thursday Night.
Realistically, Dallas would need to catch Washington for the final wild card spot in the NFC if they wanted to make an improbable playoff run. Some news about Trey Lance is circulating just days before Dallas’ Thanksgiving matchup.
Cowboys’ Trey Lance News Going Viral Ahead Of Thanksgiving Matchup Vs Giants
A fourth-round NFL draft pick was given away to the Cowboys for 49ers quarterback Trey Lance in August 2023. Because he was the No. 3 pick in the 2021 draft, teams around the NFL were interested in him, despite his eight games for the 49ers in two seasons (and just four starts).

“Jones has made plenty of mistakes since the start of the offseason, and not starting Lance is another. The Cowboys surrendered a fourth-round pick to acquire the quarterback, and it would be wise to see if he can offer anything as a long-term depth player before he becomes a free agent in 2025.”
Here is a look at Lance’s career stats:
