Cowboys Fans Explode Over Franchise Altering News (Report)

The Dallas Cowboys aren’t going to let three straight 12-win seasons that failed to result in an NFC Championship game appearance deter them from their expectations this season.  The Cowboys feel they have the pieces in place to compete for a championship.

There are a few key players who have (and will continue to) contributed to that success at an unprecedented rate.

Dallas Cowboys Fans Erupt Over Massive News

According to Nick Shook of NFL.com:

CeeDee Lamb‘s summer standoff with the Cowboys is over.

The receiver has agreed to a four-year, $136 million extension with Dallas, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Monday. Lamb will also receive $100 million guaranteed and a wide receiver-record $38 million signing bonus, per Rapoport and Pelissero.

The deal will pay Lamb the second-highest average annual salary at $34 million per year, coming in just behind Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson (four years, $35 million per year).

Lamb has remained away from the Cowboys since OTAs, which he skipped as part of his efforts to secure a new deal before the start of the season, and has remained a frequent topic in the Cowboys news cycle because of his prolonged absence.

It hasn’t been a smooth process, either, especially when owner Jerry Jones told reporters he didn’t “have any urgency to get it done” in early August, eliciting a short, displeased response from Lamb via social media.

Of course, when Dallas fans saw this massive news they reacted accordingly on social media:

Yea that’s entirely way too much money for one player I’m sorry gow are they gonna build a winning roster https://t.co/xrUOkcJYxm

Let’s go! Now Dallas just gotta throw him the ball a ton and my team gonna ball 🤣 https://t.co/Tv81QDbfhC
