The New York Giants need to find its next franchise quarterback after they moved off of Daniel Jones during the 2024 NFL season. They finished with a 3-14 record and many wonder what the future holds for this franchise.
After the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles made it to the NFC Championship Game, many New York Giants fans felt hopeless moving forward. There are still a lot of holes on this roster to fix. A lot of fans wished owner John Mara fired general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll after this season ended but didn’t.
New York Giants Select Quarterback Cam Ward In Latest Mock Draft
The Athletic created its latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. They have the New York Giants third overall selecting Cam Ward, a quarterback from the Miami Hurricanes. They said:
“I’m still torn between Ward and Sanders for QB1, and there are days it feels like Sanders is more ready right now to lead a successful offense. But, long-term, Ward — who improved every day of his lengthy college career — could have the higher ceiling.”
Cam Ward this past season for the Miami Hurricanes completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He is 6’2″ and weighs 223 lbs. There are questions about the quarterbacks in this year’s draft class.
However, if a quarterback is available for the New York Giants, there is no question that they will draft one to make sure Malik Nabers can get the ball consistently. They haven’t had a star quarterback since Eli Manning and many fans are still upset that the New York Giants missed out on a star last year like Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye also.
