The Los Angeles Rams were thought to be sellers before the trade in September. The Rams started the season 1-4 before pulling off three wins in a row.
The Rams decided to keep the band together for a chance to make the playoffs. The decision worked, as Los Angeles won the NFC West with a 10-7 record.
The Rams blew out the Vikings 29-7 in the wild card round at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, (due to the LA wildfires) before narrowly losing 28-22 to the eventual NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round.
Veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp was one of the key pieces that other NFL teams were inquiring for before the trade deadline. Kupp and head coach Sean McVay didn’t want the talented pass catcher to leave.
But things have changed.
Cooper Kupp is set to be traded
Per Kupp, the Rams are seeking a trade for the 31-year-old receiver this offseason. He doesn’t want to be traded.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships,” Kupp posted on X. “I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember.”
Kupp thanked Los Angeles Rams fans
Kupp thanked Rams fans for their support.
“I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career,” Kupp wrote. “Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys.. But coming for it all.”

The Rams selected Kupp out of Eastern Washington with the No. 69 pick in the 2017 draft. Kupp won Super Bowl LVI with Los Angeles and earned the Super Bowl MVP.
Kupp has earned one Pro Bowl appearance and one All-Pro honor, all for his efforts in 2021. The Yakima, Washington, native has recorded 634 receptions, 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns in his eight-year career. The six-foot-two, 207-pound pass catcher recorded 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 2024.
