The Colorado Buffaloes lost a tight game against the ranked Kansas Wildcats, 31-28, but the game will likely be remember for one play.
Outside of versatile weapon Travis Hunter, the best defensive back and most reliable player for Colorado on defense has been Shilo Sanders. The older son of coach Deion “Prime” Sanders, returned to play against Kansas State after missing time with a forearm fracture. Sanders received surgery nearly a month ago and has since made his way back to the field.
Sanders recorded seven tackles, six solo tackles, and one stop against the Wildcats offense. However, Sanders notably had one missed tackle that quickly found itself on social media during the Colorado Buffaloes loss.

The defensive back charged forward to tackle his assignment, running back DJ Giddens, but instead found himself on his knees after whiffing the tackle. Notable social media brand Unnecessary Roughness posted the clip with the caption “Oh no Shilo Sanders.”
Other accounts on social media were quick to throw similar comments towards the Colorado Buffaloes defender. Some of the comments included jokes about his missed tackle, while others targeted the overall play of the defensive back specifically.
Bro made him do his prayers early 🤣🙏🏼

Not good enough to be a corner or safety.

While the flood of comments seems to be never ending even days after the game, Sanders is focused on the next game and doing what he can to help the team win.
Colorado faces the Arizona Wildcats this coming weekend, a team that previously defeated the Utah Utes. Arizona should be a tough opponent for the Buffaloes defensive in particular with star quarterback Noah Fifita and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Colorado Buffaloes Defensive Back Shilo Sanders Primed For Solid Second-Half
Despite the negativity that has rained down upon the defensive back, the Colorado Buffaloes are more than excited to have the athlete return.
Running back DJ Giddens is a formidable opponent for nearly any defensive back, and gave every Colorado Buffaloes defender a hard time. The running back forced a whopping 12 missed tackles against Colorado, along with 81-yards on breakaway rushes. Giddens currently has 786-yards rushing, two rushing touchdowns, and an average of 7.3-yards per rush on the season.
Sanders has 18 tackles on the season currently with nine tackles coming against the North Dakota State University Bison. The defensive back will likely slide back into the same run stopping role he had previously, regardless of the film discussion following the loss.
