NFL fans criticized former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for turning down an opportunity to play quarterback at the professional level again.
Kaepernick has not been signed to an NFL roster since he joined free agency in the 2017 offseason. Kaepernick made controversial statements during his time with the 49ers, making it less likely that owners would want to take a risk on the quarterback who led the 49ers to an NFC Championship.
Kaepernick accused the NFL of collusion to keep him out of the league. He reached a confidential settlement with the NFL. But Kaepernick has tried to fight for a spot on a roster since the 2017 offseason.
Kaepernick recently wrote a letter to the New York Jets asking the team to take a chance on him with a practice squad spot. The Jets had backup quarterback issues after losing their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, for the season with an Achilles injury.
Per a screenshot posted on Twitter by Dov Kleiman, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) made a statement that he met and offered Kaepernick and his agents an opportunity to join the XFL. Johnson is a co-owner of the XFL. Johnson doesn’t think Kaepernick will take the offer to join the NFL.
Kaepernick has so far turned down the offer to play in the XFL. As Kleiman says, the XFL pays much less than the NFL.
Update: Dwayne Johnson has met with Colin Kapernick and has invited him to join the XFL.
The Rock, who owns the XFL, said he met with both Kaepernick and his agents and had a "Good meeting, looked to create opportunity for him.' but Johnson says he doesn't think it will happen.… https://t.co/JesNbo0IGw pic.twitter.com/tKovETMsdg

NFL Fans react to Colin Kaepernick’s XFL decision
Fans commented harshly on Kaepernick’s decision not to join the XFL. That’s the best path the 35-year-old quarterback possibly has to get back into the NFL. Here are the best takes questioning Kaepernick’s decision.
He should join if he wants to play football. May get his foot n the NFL door

They pay more in the XFL than being unemployed that's for sure

Supported Kaep the entire way and I still do but I will never understand some of his decision making through this process but worst of all his lack of communication with his fans that truly do support and believe in him.
Why would he not take this opportunity?
Also it’s 2023…

That man does not wanna play football lol

If Colin doesn’t join then he’s unserious about playing for the love of the game.
— ًBoltUpYo (@BoltUpYo) October 4, 2023
That's the thing. He does t really want to play football. Lol

Fuck Kaepernik, he’s nothing but a jaggoff…..Ban that fucker from football……
The only reason Kaepernick turned the XFL down is because of pride.
Make an example of him.
……Kaepernick asked for a quarter.
…..someone offered him a dime.
…..he said: “No thanks”.
Kaepernick is not worth the risk.
There are alot of Badass Quarterbacks entering the next draft.
He is just wanting to keep his name fresh in the media. He knows that he will never play NFL and does not want to lower his standards with XFL, even though they may be merging with USFL. I have always said they should merge and they will have more venues to play at.
Fuck Kaperdick
He tried to extend his fifteen minutes of fame. Textbook worthless piece of garbage
He should play getting a opportunity to play then NFL would look at him ,I guess not, must just like talking then, not trying to show action.
I wouldn’t play either, They had no love for him. He play ball with his kids. If some put you through some things. You’re not going to go be their flunky. Unless that’s just who you are a stepping stone.
Turn down a golden opportunity. Could’ve made this his comeback job to prove himself that he was worthy to play in the NFL again.Guess he thinks he is too good and wants to start at the top.
Hey, man, you haven’t been in The League for a long time. Get in where you fit in.
Honestly I don’t blame him for not playing for him for turning down to play for XFL in the first place he didn’t do anything wrong he was blackballed for taking a knee for something he believed in but it was a political statement band the white people didn’t like it black people were being killed beat and doged out and he wanted to bring attention to the problem and they didn’t like it and he stood on his beliefs the NFL Is very unfair and it sucks I wouldn’t take that shitty deal either screw the rock and his XFL screw the racist nfl
