The Cleveland Browns finished the 2024 season with a 3-14 record and the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a good chance that Cleveland could draft a quarterback to replace Deshaun Watson next year.
However, there also could be a chance that the Browns could be listening to trade offers on defensive end Myles Garrett. Garrett could be mentioned in trade rumors during the offseason in the NFL.
Cleveland Browns Land Penn State Nittany Lions Defensive End Abdul Carter In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft To Pair With Myles Garrett
There are a lot of mock drafts that have the Browns taking a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, in the latest CBS mock draft by Mike Renner, he has Cleveland selecting Abdul Carter with the second overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Renner said:
“Pairing Abdul Carter with Myles Garrett is too scary a proposition for the Browns to pass up. It was a slow start, but by the end of Carter’s first season as an edge-rusher for the Nittany Lions, he was unblockable. Carter racked up 44 pressures over his final nine games, including eight in their playoff loss to Notre Dame, according to PFF.”
Abdul Carter this past season with the Penn State Nittany Lions recorded 68 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four pass deflections. Carter was playing with a shoulder injury against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and he still dominated the game. Carter and Myles Garrett on the same defensive line for the Cleveland Browns would be scary.
Top 5 Pick For Sure
It would be a major shock if Abdul Carter slipped out of the Top 5. If he does not get drafted by the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, or New York Giants, there is no question that the New England Patriots and head coach Mike Vrabel would want to draft Abdul Carter.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will also have the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Cleveland drafting Carter would not be a surprise as long as they figure out their quarterback situation before the draft begins.
