The Cleveland Browns have been busy this offseason. Most notably, they were able to convince superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett to drop his trade request and re-sign with the team on a massive four-year, $160 million contract.
While that was a great step in the right direction towards getting back to winning, the Browns still have a major issue that needs to be addressed.
Of course, that issue is the quarterback options. Currently, Cleveland does not have a legitimate starting quarterback. Kenny Pickett was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he is not even close to being a proven starter.
Obviously, the Browns would prefer to not turn back to Deshaun Watson. With that in mind, what direction could they choose to go under center?
Once again, the team has been linked to a potential option for the 2025 season.

Coming into the offseason, quite a few names were listed as potential targets. The one who has continued coming up the most is none other than current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports has once again connected the Browns as a potential suitor for Cousins.
“If that sounds like the Falcons are putting some teams into their crosshairs for a squeeze, it’s because they are. Specifically, the Cleveland Browns and possibly the Pittsburgh Steelers, depending on what happens with Aaron Rodgers.”
Robinson continued on, revealing that Cleveland appears to be the main target for the Falcons to land an asset in return for Cousins.
“The exit here is the offering of some kind of asset the Falcons would be happy with, at which point they’d surrender Cousins via trade and pay most if not all of his 2025 salary. And the target seems to be the Browns.”
Cousins is coming off of a 2024 season that saw him throw for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions, while also completing 66.9 percent of his pass attempts. The turnovers were a problem, which led to him being benched in favor of rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
All of that being said, this is clearly a situation to continue keeping an eye on when it comes to the Browns.
