The Cleveland Browns have seen much better days in their organization, and this is a franchise that once won one game in a two-year span.
The Browns started their 2024 season with a 1-4 record, and quarterback Deshaun Watson has not played well. Many fans have called for him to be benched.
Cleveland Browns Still Have Hope
Cleveland is going down a bad road on and off the field, and they could be staring down a major Watson problem since he has two more years of guaranteed money. If he is released anytime, the organization still owes him his money.
Even though the Browns don’t seem to be heading to the playoffs this year, one national reporter still has some hope for the team moving forward this season.
Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon wrote an article 1 Reason Why Every NFL Team Should Still Hold Out Hope for a Successful 2024 Season and stated this about the Browns:” The schedule gives them one last chance to rebound with the Bengals and Ravens coming to Cleveland later in October. We know the talent is there.”
Cleveland still has every AFC North opponent left on its schedule, so if the Browns go 6-0 against them, there is a great chance they could make the playoffs, but that isn’t going to happen.
Watson is one of the team’s biggest issues, and even if they do make a move off of him sometime down the road, it still won’t improve the bad offensive line, a running game that doesn’t get more than two yards a carry, and a defense that doesn’t know how to tackle.
The Browns season is cooked, and there is no saving this thing. The worst part is that this might be the first season of many bad years down the road.
