We have received an injury update on Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco ahead of their Week 8 game against Virginia. Pete Thamel of ESPN has reported that Wesco is out of the game, which is set to kick off at noon EST. The game is in “Death Valley,” with the Tigers being heavy favorites.
Freshman Wesco will be a miss for the team, but not enough for Vegas to swing the odds toward the Cavaliers. Clemson is looking to move to 5-0 in the ACC Conference and 6-1 on the season today.
Time For Bryant Wesco to Heal Up For Week 10 Game
The news means that Bryant Wesco can concentrate on getting healthy for Week 10. Clemson has a bye week after today’s Virginia game, so the freshman has plenty of time to heal up and get back on the team, ready for what could be a big game against Louisville, depending on today’s results.
Louisville has a big game today at home against Miami, an unbeaten ACC team. The game starts at the same time as Clemson, and if the Cardinals can cause an upset win, the game in Week 10 becomes a pivotal one for the Tigers, especially.
Getting Wesco back for that game will be important despite their talented room. He missed last week’s win over Wake Forest and was seen in a walking boot at the game. Pete Thamel reported that it was an ankle injury picked up during the win against Florida State. Wesco has 233 receiving yards on the season from just 11 receptions, ranking third on the team. He is averaging 23.8 yards per catch, nearly nine more yards than the next-best on the team, Antonio Williams. Wesco is ranked fourth in the nation in yards per reception.
Those stats are thanks to two big touchdowns: a 76-yard touchdown in Week 2 against App State and a 52-yard one against Stanford. He may be down the pecking order in targets, but he takes advantage of those and offers a deep threat for the team. A four-star recruit from the 2024 class, Bryant Wesco was ranked the No.11 wide receiver. He will be the No.1 or No. 2 wide receiver after this season, alongside five-star 2024 recruit TJ Moore.
Georgia. Despite the loss, the Tigers have pushed their way back into the playoff picture. Quarterback Cade Klubnik has got the offense purring, resulting in a five-game winning streak and sitting just behind Miami in the ACC Conference. Can they finish the season strong, starting today against Virginia?
