The Cincinnati Bengals were heavily favored to win this week but took an unexpected loss to the New England Patriots at home. The final score ended 16-10 in favor of New England after their defense held off the comeback effort from the Bengals. Fans are in disbelief that Cincinnati took the loss as the Patriots are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year.

Following the loss, Bengals fans were already calling for head coach Zac Taylor to be fired after the team’s horrible performance. Taylor had a press conference following the game saying that he is confident that the team will regroup and learn from this loss, however, fans seemed to have heard enough from their long-time head coach.

It’s Zac’s fault this team starts so slow and are always behind the 8 ball

    Slow Start

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) leads the offense onto the field in the third quarter of the NFL Week 3 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023. The Bengals beat the Rams, 19-16, improving to 1-2.

An overwhelming flood of responses like these came in for fans who say they are tired of starting off every season slow, and that Taylor is the reason they do so. Star quarterback Joe Burrow was held to just 164 passing yards and no touchdowns, while the offense committed key turnovers in scoring range. While the Cincinnati defense seemed to hold their ground well, the offense was unable to take advantage of opportunities throughout the game.

Do you think that the Bengals will be able to turn it around this season, or will they let their fans down again?
