Today, training camp begins for the Cincinnati Bengals and several other teams around the NFL. This resulted in the Bengals posting a hilarious tweet to help promote the start of it. This tweet involved franchise QB Joe Burrow and a famous rapper who has recently made headlines again. Read below to find out what the Bengals posted.
Cincinnati Bengals Tweet Photo of Joe Burrow Dressed Like Eminem
Earlier today, the Cincinnati Bengals posted this tweet regarding Joe Burrow and the start of training camp. Cincinnati was trying to announce that the team was beginning training camp today. They came up with a pretty clever way to do just that.
The Bengals captioned this tweet with the “Guess Who’s Back” lyrics by famous rapper Eminem. Ironically, Burrow was dressed like famous rapper Eminem as a throwback to the rapper’s days when he went by the stage name “Slim Shady.”
Resurgence of Eminem
Eminem is 51 years old and yet, he can still command headlines. Recently, the famous rapper released a new album called “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).” It has resulted in the rapper taking down famous singer Taylor Swift after having a 12-week top album streak. This is a milestone that may have some football fans rejoice after Swift arguably took significant attention away from the football field last season.
Joe Burrow Taking Center Stage
A lot of eyes are on Joe Burrow as the Bengals’ training camp begins. That is because he suffered a season-ending wrist injury last season. As a result, Cincinnati ended up missing the playoffs and coming in last place in the AFC North division. Considering the team made the AFC Championship the prior two seasons, it is safe to say the Bengals are looking for redemption in 2024.
This may also be Burrow’s best chance to do this for the next several years. That is because there is a lot of long-term uncertainty surrounding wide receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. Yesterday, it was announced that Chase is unlikely to receive a long-term deal before the 2024 season begins.
Higgins was even more controversial because the Bengals used their franchise tag on him. Ultimately, he was the only franchise-tagged player who did not receive a contract extension this offseason. So, this could be Burrow’s last chance to make a run with two elite wide receivers.
