The Cincinnati Bengals have arguably one of the best rosters in the NFL.  Two years in a row they have been one of the final four teams standing in the playoffs.  In 2021 they lost the Super Bowl to the Rams, last season they lost in the AFC Championship to the Chiefs.  In 2023, they figure to be right back in Super Bowl conversations, however, they may go through a notable change on the offensive side of the ball in the near future.

The Cincinnati Bengals Have No Plans To Extend Starting Wide Receiver Tee Higgins

The Bengals and Higgins have not reached a contract extension and the wideout is not expected to be part of the team’s long-term plans, according to the Enquirer.  In the offseason, he was offered a contract, but this offer was reportedly not as lucrative as what he could receive on the open market. A franchise tag will be available to Higgins next year if the Bengals decide to use it.

Higgins has been one of the Bengals’ most productive players under head coach Zac Taylor since joining the team three years ago. The wide receiver has caught 215 passes for 3,028 yards and 19 touchdowns with the Bengals. With over 1,000 receiving yards in both of his previous seasons, Higgins has been a consistent option for Joe Burrow.

If the Bengals decide to entertain trade offers before his contract is up, he would certainly fetch a sizable return.
