The Kansas City Chiefs were embarrassed on National Television against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.  And “embarrassed” may be putting it lightly.  Philadelphia was in control from the very first snap en-route to a 40-22 victory.

That game has led Kansas City to do some rethinking this off-season.  That re-thinking has led to adding a Super Bowl champion on their defense.

    According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Free-agent CB Robert Rochell, who spent last season with the Packers, reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Chiefs, per UniSportsMgmt CEO Kevin Conner.

A 27-year-old Rochell spent the past two seasons with the Packers.

As a special teams player, he played 121 snaps in 2024, one on defense and one on special teams. Two tackles and a fumble recovery were made by him.

His first two seasons in the NFL were spent with the Los Angeles Rams after being drafted in the fourth round in 2021.  It will be interesting to see if he can carve out a bigger role in Kansas City’s defense.
