Just recently, a disturbing incident involving Buffalo Bills fans, Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, and his wife Brittany came to light as the two teams faced each other on the field. This led to NFL tight end Travis Kelce and musician Taylor Swift to react to what happened to their friends.

Bills fans recently sparked controversy with a provocative pregame gesture aimed at Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. At a tailgate event, a group of fans displayed a Kermit the Frog doll, dressed in Mahomes’ jersey and suspended by a rope around its neck. This act was intended as a taunt, drawing on the long-standing comparison between Mahomes’ speaking voice and the iconic Muppet character.

The choice of Kermit was not only meant to mock Mahomes but also raised serious concerns about its implications. Many observers noted that the depiction evoked troubling historical connotations, drawing parallels to the lynching of Black individuals in America. This has led to widespread criticism of the Bills fans, with some labeling the act as racially insensitive and offensive.

Despite the backlash, the Bills managed to secure a victory against the Chiefs, winning 30-21. This marked a significant win for the team, placing them a half-game behind Kansas City for the top seed in the AFC. The rivalry between these two teams has intensified over recent seasons, particularly as the Chiefs have eliminated the Bills from the playoffs multiple times.

After the incident, both Swift and Kelce stood by the Mahomes against what they experienced by Bills fans. Their reaction can be seen in an article by James Vituscka for Daily Mail.

‘Taylor’s friends said she and Travis found it incredibly disturbing,’ an insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘She has talked to Brittany who was really taken aback.’

Both Swift and Kelce were deeply disturbed by a recent incident involving a Kermit the Frog puppet, which was displayed in a derogatory manner outside the Buffalo Bills’ stadium. The puppet, dressed in Mahomes’ jersey, evoked troubling historical connotations, prompting Swift to reach out to Brittany Mahomes to offer support.

The couple expressed their concern over the implications of this act, highlighting the need for vigilance in the face of such negativity. Their response underscores the importance of solidarity in challenging times especially for the Mahomes.
