The Chicago Bears have transitioned into Phase 3 of the offseason. Voluntary organized team activities begin on May 20 and will be held through the 22, as well as the 27-30, followed by mandatory minicamp on June 3-5. Finally, once mandatory minicamp wraps up, they will hold their final three sessions of OTAs from June 9-11 for the rookies.
One position to keep an eye on during spring practices is their revamped offensive line. The Bears’ front office made it a mission to improve their interior offensive line during the offseason, allowing Caleb Williams to stay upright in 2025. They brought in three high-quality starters, including a four-time Super Bowl Champion.
The Chicago Bears wanted to extend their Super Bowl Champion

As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics in April, one of the Chicago Bears’ biggest priorities during the offseason was to sign their four-time Super Bowl Champion, three-time Pro Bowl, and two-time First-Team All-Pro, Joe Thuney, to a multi-year extension. Thuney entered the final year of his five-year, $80 million contract. The 32-year-old was scheduled to earn a $15.5 million base salary, with only $2 million guaranteed remaining, along with a $16 million cap hit in 2025.

According to his agent, Mike McCartney, via Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears and Joe Thuney have agreed to a massive multi-year deal. As Rapoport points out, the deal is for two years and is worth $35 million, with $33.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. As a result, Thuney will be under contract through 2027 and will make $51 million.
