Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made known his honest feelings about the arrival of George Pickens to the team, and how it would affect his position on the roster moving forward.
In a recent interview, CeeDee Lamb affirmed his position on the team as WR1, and will remain as WR1. However, George Pickens will also be WR1, making them both number ones.
“We’re both No. 1’s,” Lamb said. “It ain’t no [1A, 1B situation], none of that. It’s No. 1. You look over there, you see No. 1. You look over here, you see another No. 1. So do what you gotta do with that.”

The Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver depth chart has sparked controversy following the acquisition of George Pickens. The debate centers around whether CeeDee Lamb remains the unquestioned WR1, or if Pickens will challenge him for that role.
Lamb, a four-time Pro Bowler, has been the Cowboys’ top receiver for years, but Pickens, known for his big-play ability, brings a new dynamic to the offense. Some analysts believe Pickens could take away targets from Lamb, potentially shifting the offensive hierarchy.

Adding to the controversy, Pickens arrives in Dallas with a history of locker room tensions from his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger even questioned whether Pickens was a “bigger headache than we even know,” suggesting that his attitude may have played a role in Pittsburgh trading him away.
The Cowboys are betting that their strong leadership—particularly Dak Prescott—can keep Pickens focused and productive. Whether this dynamic will work smoothly or create tension remains to be seen.

CeeDee Lamb has been playing for the Dallas Cowboys since 2020, after being selected 17th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft. Over the years, he has developed into one of the league’s top wide receivers, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and becoming the Cowboys’ primary offensive weapon.
George Pickens arrived in Dallas via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the Cowboys sending two future draft picks in exchange for Pickens and a sixth-round pick. The move was driven by Dallas’ need for a deep-threat receiver to complement Lamb, as Pickens excels in contested catches and vertical routes.
