The Ohio State Buckeyes are 10-2 this season and they are preparing to face the Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the college football playoffs. One of the reasons why the Buckeyes offense is so talented is because of freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Smith this season has caught 57 passes for 934 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns, along with averaging 16.4 yards per catch. He is 6’3″ and weighs 215 lbs. With how talented he is, there are Buckeyes fans who wish he got the ball more in games.
CBS Sports Writer Thinks That Ohio State Buckeyes Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith Could Win the Heisman Trophy Next Season

Could Smith on Ohio State win the Heisman Trophy in 2025 after Travis Hunter of the Colorado Buffaloes won it this year? CBS Sports Writer Blake Brockermeyer has Jeremiah Smith as one of his candidates to potentially win the Heisman Trophy next season. Brockermeyer said:
“Smith is a match-up nightmare who can dominate the contested catches and reel in the one-handed catches in his sleep. The No. 1 recruit in 2024, Smith entered this season with a ton of hype after spring and summer workouts and did not disappoint, emerging as Ohio State’s go-to dude. Smith will have high expectations and a ton of deserved hype entering the season — but who will throw him the football?”
Quarterback will no question be one of the biggest issues to figure out this offseason for the Buckeyes. Will Julian Sayin be the starter next year or will Tavien St. Clair start as a true freshman? Also, will Ohio State find someone in the transfer portal instead to replace Will Howard once the season ends? Ohio State would be better off starting Sayin or St. Clair next season.
Needs More Targets

As Ohio State gets prepared to face Tennessee in the playoffs, head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly need to find ways to get their best playmaker the football. Jeremiah Smith can not only have three to four receptions for 20 yards receiving on Saturday night.
He needs to have a game where he has 8-9 receptions for 120 yards and a receiving touchdown or two. If they were to lose that way, that would be fine but not acceptable. It would feel more unacceptable if they lose to Tennessee and he is not involved much in the offensive game plan once again because of how talented he is.
