Despite a lackluster season, a Carolina Panthers star has made NFL history.
During the Carolina Panthers week 18 clash against NFC South rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, former seventh overall pick, Derrick Brown secured his 99th tackle of the season.

His 99th tackle of the season would see the former Auburn Tiger break the record for most tackles by a defensive tackle in NFL history. Miami Dolphins star DT, Christian Wilkins broke the record when he tallied 98 tackles in 2022.
Carolina Panthers Disappointing 2023 Season
During this past April’s 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers traded star wide receiver DJ Moore in addition to a plethora of draft capital in order to move up the board and secure the top pick in the draft. The man the organization targeted was former Heisman Trophy winner, Alabama quarterback, Bryce Young. Despite potentially mortgaging their future, the club thought Young was the man to lead the franchise into a new direction, something fans in Carolina have been clamoring for since former MVP, Cam Newton left all the way back in 2019.
With a few additions in the free agent market, perhaps most notably former Philadelphia Eagles tailback, Miles Sanders as well as former Pro Bowl wideout, Adam Thielen, coupled with new head coach, Frank Reich, the future was bright in Carolina…until it wasn’t. The Panthers lost their first 6 games of the season, the organization fired Reich after less than a half season in charge, and most importantly, the man they gave the keys to the kingdom to, Bryce Young, has had a roller coaster rookie campaign…to say the least.
