The Carolina Panthers had a 5-12 record last season in Dave Canales’s first season as head coach. At the start of the season, Bryce Young was playing horrendously and he was benched for Andy Dalton.

When Young came back into the lineup, he played a lot better and Carolina can now build off of that. Young last season completed 60.9% of his passes for 2,403 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 249 yards on 43 carries and six touchdowns, along with averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Carolina Panthers Find Bryce Young Next Star Wide Receiver In Latest PFF 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Jordan Plocher of Pro Football Focus created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. He has the Carolina Panthers selecting Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Plocher said:
“A pass rusher would be a logical choice for the Panthers here, but helping Bryce Young continue to develop takes priority. Selecting McMillan gives Carolina’s offense more versatility and firepower, providing Young with another reliable weapon as he enters his third season. After showing tremendous progress in the back half of 2024, Young will benefit greatly from an improved supporting cast.”
McMillan is 6’5″ and weighs 212 lbs. Last season with the Arizona Wildcats, he caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards receiving, and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 15.7 yards per reception. Tetairoa McMillan is would no doubt be the Panthers’ number-one wide receiver option right away. Some think he could be the best wide receiver in this draft class.
Current Wide Receivers Depth Chart

The top three wide receivers on the Carolina Panthers roster last season were Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker. There is no doubt that Tetairoa McMillan would be the star wide receiver on this football team. They need playmakers for Bryce Young.
If the Panthers make enough moves this offseason, they could be in play for a weak NFC South next season. However, some feel like Carolina needs another year or two before getting back to the playoffs but drafting offensive help for Young would be a step in the right direction.
