Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is looking forward to having a reset of sorts in his second year in the NFL. Harrison didn’t perform particularly poorly on the field in his rookie season in 2024, but he was not spectacular either.
Many expected him to be an instant game-changer for Arizona, but it simply was not the case last season, when he had 885 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. What was perhaps more frustrating was his poor catch rate, as he collected only 62 receptions on 116 targets.
Harrison entered the offseason perhaps with the thought that if he wanted to take his game to the next level, he would need to bulk up to better survive the physicality at the pro level.
Cardinals WR’s admission about weight gain gets fans talking

On Monday, Harrison revealed that he “put on some pounds” and “added some muscle,” (h/t Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk).
“Still just trying to see how my body feels throughout OTAs . . . Kind of get that specific weight to settle in for training camp and go from there,” the former Ohio State Buckeyes star added.
A part of that quote was also posted on Instagram by NFL on ESPN, which sparked reactions:
“He’s gonna show why he was drafted 4 overall in a loaded draft class.”
“I can tell he has had a better offseason by his aura. He is gonna ball out this season! Much respect”
“MHJ welcome to the weekly random screenings”
“👏👏👏 he’s know what to expect now 1500 yard season”
“Buddy’s getting tested every week of the season…😂”
“Can we improve on yours and Kyler’s connection on back shoulders and outside breaking routes??? Congrats on the extra lbs though.”
