There were many Ohio State Buckeyes fans calling for Ryan Day to be fired as head coach after they lost to the Michigan Wolverines last season. Many felt that Ohio State was not going to make a deep run in the playoffs after the Michigan game.

College Football Analyst Questions If Ohio State Buckeyes Head Coach Ryan Day Can Avoid a Championship Hangover Or Not

The Buckeyes are the defending champions entering a college football season for the first time since the 2015 season. Ohio State has a lot of talent on the roster despite losing a lot of talent to the NFL. Cameron Teague Robinson of the Athletic covers this Buckeyes football team. Robinson mentioned in his latest column,
“Can he avoid a championship hangover while trying to replace 14 NFL Draft picks? Can he become the first Ohio State coach to repeat as a national champion? Will he finally get over his Michigan hurdle and beat the Wolverines for the first time since 2019?
Though he’s one of just three active coaches with a national championship, Day knows the pressure will never go away, especially when coaching the most consistent winner in the sport.”
One of the biggest questions about Ohio State entering this season will be can they end the four-game losing streak against the Wolverines? It has felt like an eternity since the Buckeyes last beat this team. It will be interesting to see when that time comes.
However, the focus will be on Texas for now. Ohio State will have high expectations. Julian Sayin will be the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes. This will be the fourth different quarterback starting in four straight seasons. The offensive and defensive lines will be a work in progress. It also helps that this team has Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs, but there is a lot that still has to be answered despite being a Top 5 team in the nation.
