2022 NFL Draft No. 1 pick Cam Ward has been disrespected for not getting a single primetime slot for any of the games he is scheduled to play for the 2025 season. At least this is what one NFL analyst thinks of the matter.

In a video, NFL analyst Kyle Brandt expressed his honest opinion on Cam Ward not getting any primetime game schedule, despite being the overall first pick for the recent NFL Draft.

“My takeaway is the Titans have zero Prime Time games, zero,” the analyst said. “And I’d like to say I can’t believe it, but I can completely believe it, because this is not only a franchise routinely disrespected. Cam Ward is by far the most overlooked, underrepresented, disrespected No.1 overall pick quarterback in my lifetime.”

“Understand this, Cam Ward, who is big and strong, and cool and friendly, and professional, and has a very interesting back story, is getting nothing. You will not see him in prime time because he’s the quarterback of the Titans.”

I screamed about the No. 1 overall pick.

A primetime schedule is crucial for an NFL team, especially when they have a No. 1 overall draft pick, because it maximizes national exposure and branding. Primetime games—such as Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, and Thursday Night Football—provide the most viewership, allowing the franchise to showcase their top pick to a nationwide audience.

This increased visibility enhances the team’s reputation, attracts sponsorships, and boosts ticket sales. For the No. 1 pick, it presents a high-pressure environment where they can prove their worth, gain fan recognition, and establish themselves as a future star. Without primetime games, a top draft pick may struggle to gain mainstream attention, making it harder to elevate their status in the league.

Beyond exposure, primetime games also impact narratives, endorsements, and legacy. A No. 1 pick performing well under the bright lights of primetime can strengthen their position as the face of the franchise.

Historically, teams with elite young quarterbacks or star rookies have benefited from being placed in marquee matchups, allowing their players to build momentum and confidence early in their careers. Without these high-profile opportunities, a No. 1 pick’s development may be overlooked, limiting their chances to become a household name.

Why Was Cam Ward The No.1 Draft Pick?

Cam Ward was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans due to his exceptional talent, leadership, and ability to elevate a struggling program.

After transferring to Miami for his final college season, Ward shattered records, throwing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns, earning ACC Offensive Player of the Year and All-American honors.

Cam Ward now enters the NFL with high expectations, aiming to prove that Tennessee made the right decision in selecting him first overall.
