The Miami Dolphins added another pass rusher to their roster ahead of the 2024 season. The Dolphins lost one of their best defensive linemen from last season when they let Christian Wilkins walk into free agency. The Dolphins were able to add a three-time All-Pro player to help fill Wilkins’ void.
The Miami Dolphins added help for the pass rush in the draft
The Dolphins drafted defensive end Chop Robinson in the first round of the draft to help their pass rush. While Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, and Robinson help on the exterior, the team still needed a presence on the interior of the defensive line.
Calais Campbell is signing with the Dolphins
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Dolphins are signing veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell. Campbell was one of the most sought-after defensive linemen following the draft:
Homecoming: Long-time Pro Bowl DE Calais Campbell, one of the biggest name free agents available, is expected to sign with the #Dolphins, per me and @TomPelissero . Back at home for The U superstar.
The 37-year-old has plenty left and will bring leadership
The Arizona Cardinals drafted Campbell in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He’s spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, and Atlanta Falcons.
The six-foot-eight, 282-pound defensive lineman has played in 244 games and started in 225 games. Campbell has recorded 865 total tackles, 105.5 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and three interceptions in his NFL career. According to Pro Football Focus, he earned an 80.0 grade for his play last season.

He’s been in the league for so long that he got a FLASHBACK card in madden 16, like nearly 9 years ago 😭 those cards are usually reserved to older players that that used to be really good but fell out of their prime, but nah, Calais has still been kicking at a superstar level 😭
