The Buffalo Bills season is one of the weirdest in recent memory. Coming into the year, they were one of the Super Bowl favorites. Now, they sit at 5-5 with their playoff chances getting more dubious by the week. However, they haven’t looked like a complete mess on the field and the stats back this up.

Buffalo Bills Make The Wrong Type Of History
The Bills scoring margin is great! They sit at +78 which historically has meant a winning record. Not the case for the Bills. They are the first team since the 1981 Falcons to be at least at a +75 scoring margin and not have a winning record. This is not the type of history that a team wants to be making. It does show how dominant they have been against bad teams and that in their losses they have kept it close. That should give fans some optimism moving into the back half of the season.
Can The Bills Turn It Around?
The Monday night game against the Broncos was there for the taking. If the team could get their field goal block personnel figured out, the Bills sit at 6-4 and the concern is much lower. Josh Allen is turning the ball over a lot and if he cuts down on that, it would drastically help the offense. The injuries on defense are starting to pile up but overall have played okay and will likely improve as the new pieces get acclimated. The team simply needs to cut down on the self-inflicted wounds and they likely will be okay.
The Buffalo Bills have a lot of work to do in the back half of the season. However, the division is still in reach with the Dolphins not taking control and the Jets and Patriots struggling. If they can shore up some easy things, they will likely be back in the playoffs gunning for a Super Bowl berth.
