Buffalo Bills Could Make Big $12 Million Trade Before NFL Draft

The Buffalo Bills once again came up just short during the 2024 NFL season. Despite making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game and having a real chance to beat the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bills ended up losing.

Once again, they missed out on their chance to punch their ticket into the Super Bowl.

Josh Allen and company only have one goal at this point in time. It’s championship or bust for the Bills. With that in mind, Buffalo entered the offseason looking to be aggressive and make moves.

Joey Bosa was added in NFL free agency. If he can stay healthy, he could be the missing piece that helps take the defense to the next level. However, his addition does leave other players without the kind of role that they might want.

With that in mind, the Bills are a team to watch to make a potential trade before or during the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills Could Make Big $12 Million Trade Before NFL Draft

Fox Sports analyst Ralph Vacchiano has suggested that linebacker A.J. Epenesa could be on the move at some point this offseason. The $12 million pass rusher could be of interest to teams around the league if he’s made available.

“He’s in the last year of a two-year, $12 million contract extension, but he just watched as his team signed Joey Bosa (one year, $12.6 million) and gave Greg Rousseau a four-year, $80 million extension,” Vacchiano wrote. “If the Bills aren’t willing to commit big money to Epenesa, too, maybe one of the many teams in need of an edge rusher would be interested in his six sacks per year. It helps that there are a lot of good edge rushers in this draft, in case the Bills want an immediate replacement.”

Epenesa is coming off of a 2024 NFL season that saw him play in 17 games. He racked up 39 total tackles to go along with six sacks, two forced fumbles, and two defended passes. The 26-year-old is more than capable of making an impact.

It will be interesting to see what Buffalo chooses to do. Epenesa would make sense as a potential trade candidate.

Should the Bills make him available, it seems likely that they would have a few teams lined up with interest in acquiring him.
