Dawson Knox saves the Buffalo Bills $14.4 against the cap. This move, along with many others, has been at the forefront of the Bills’ early offseason moves to allow for more cap space.
Buffalo Bills Offseason Moves
The Bill has had a fury of moves to create more cap space.
Strong safety Jordan Poyer and Siran Neal, center Mitch Morse, running back Nyheim Hines, and wide receiver/special teamer Deonte Harty were released. The bills also restructured the contracts of CB Rasul Douglas, linebacker/edge Von Miller, and Dawson Knox. They designated cornerback Tre’Davious White as a post-June 1 release (due to contract stipulations of the new league year).
With all these moves to create cap space, Bills fans hope they make a splash once the 2024 free agency window opens. Some wonder if this will lead to a stronger push to a Super Bowl or if that window is closing.
Dawson Knox on the Buffalo Bills
Knox had a rough season. He played in 13 games and had only 22 catches. The entrance of rookie sensation Dalton Kincaid put a damper on Knox’s stats, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold a crucial role with the Bills’ offense.
Knox played a crucial role in the Buffalo Bills’ run to win the AFC East as a blocking tight end, while Kincaid was more of a receiving threat. Knox and Kincaid were on the field much more once Joe Brady took over as an offensive play-caller.
Josh Allen, Joe Brady, and the rest of the offense must be excited about the prospect of more cap space in 2024.
