The Buffalo Bills drafted an absolute gem in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, selecting EDGE rusher Greg Rousseau 30th overall. Since then, Rousseau has developed into a reliable passer-rusher and even a consistent run-stopper. He is only scratching the surface and will continue to get better.
Rousseau had arguably his best year as a pro in 2024, boasting career-highs in tackles, TFLs, pressures, and QB hits and tying a career-high in sacks. He recorded 53 tackles, 16 TFLs, 35 stops, 63 pressures, 24 hits, and eight sacks in 16 starts. He also posted a 16% pass rush win rate, ranking 12th, and a 9.0% run stop win rate, tying for 5th among EDGE rushers who played at least 50% of snaps (h/t) PFF.
The Buffalo Bills star enters the final year of his contract

Since the Bills exercised his fully guaranteed fifth-year option last May, worth $13,387,000 for 2025, Greg Rousseau enters the final year of his rookie contract. Unless both parties can agree on a long-term extension sooner, Rousseau is set to hit free agency next offseason. Finally, it would be logical for the team to sign him to a long-term deal sooner rather than later because the longer the wait, the higher the salary.
