While everyone was enjoying the Browns Vs Raiders game last season, Browns fan Stephanie Allen wasn’t having a great time. During the middle of the game, a full can of beer was thrown by a fan and it hit her in the face. She is said to have suffered a concussion and serious facial injuries.
Per Fox 8, Allen said this about the incident:
“I was cheering and clapping because of the touchdown. Next thing you know, something hit me in my head and I went down. It felt like a car hit me in my head.”
With how loud it was in the stadium, Stephanie Allen’s husband, Jeff Allen, didn’t even know she fell over.
“That’s when it hit her. I didn’t even realize it. It’s so loud in there as well.”
Stephanie Allen also says that the medical bills are also piling up and she is also still dealing with dizziness.
“I would like to see them press charges on him and I’d like to see them pay my medical bills.”
A Cleveland Police report says that what happened was a felony assault, but no one has been charged yet. The Browns were reported to have given camera footage to help identify a suspect, but nothing has turned up.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors don’t believe that this incident happened on purpose, so lesser charges are being considered by city prosecutors.
The Browns also released a statement on the incident:
“During all games and events, the team employs significant resources to promote a positive fan atmosphere, including comprehensive safety protocols. While the team’s staff and systems closely monitor all in-stadium activity, fans are always encouraged to proactively contact guest services members about improper behavior, including through an anonymous text line.”
Despite there being a chance that no one faces charges, Stephanie Allen is still looking for justice.
“I think that’s assault and I think he should be prosecuted for that.”
