Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers quarterback, recently opened up on the no-trade clause in his brand new contract with the team. A few days back, Purdy signed a five-year deal with the 49ers for a massive sum of $265 million, making him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league today. While the sum is indeed crazy big, it also comes with a strong no-trade clause, which raised many eyebrows.
In a press meet on Thursday, the quarterback opened up about this particular clause and dropped his opinions on it. According to Purdy himself, the clause did not hold any issues for him and it was understood that the team would put one in in his deal because of the amount that the contract holds.
“I think it’s important, yes. But, for me, was it going to be a determining factor in signing it or not? No. We were very grateful that we had it in there, but at the end of the day, like I said, everything else that the contract entails, we’re extremely excited about, so we’re just grateful how it turned out.” Brock Purdy said to reporters on Thursday about the no-trade clause in his $265 million contract.
Brock Purdy was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 262nd pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft. Being the last player in the draft to be selected by the 49ers, Purdy was called an irrelevant player. In the previous NFL season, Purdy managed to throw for 3,864 yards, scoring 20 touchdowns for the team while managing 12 interceptions.

Brock Purdy Comments On Christian McCaffrey’s Injury Update
In the same conversation with reporters, Brock Purdy also commented on running back, Christian McCaffrey’s injury and recovery. McCaffrey suffered with Achilles tendinitis throughout the previous NFL season, which cut short his year with the 49ers.

However, the running back has been seen back in training and seems to be ready and fit to play in the upcoming football season. Purdy mentioned to reporters that Christian McCaffrey is indeed looking “healthy” and called the running back a “true swiss army knife”, commenting on his versatility on the field.

With Purdy happy and satisfied with his new contract and Christian McCaffrey back in the roster, the San Francisco 49ers will be hoping to do much better in the upcoming NFL season. In the previous NFL season, the 49ers finished last in the NFC West with only six wins and 11 defeats.
