Brock Purdy’s $265 million contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers brought about mixed reactions from numerous NFL analysts and former players. Some of them reasoned that Purdy has done plenty for the team and definitely deserved the money while others were skeptical about his performance for the 49ers.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel seemed to echo the former group’s sentiments. Daniel recently remarked on ‘The Facility’ that Brock Purdy is definitely not being overpaid and that the deal is neither “too high or too low”. Daniel also remarked that the deal means that everyone wins, including Purdy and the 49ers franchise.
“So, I don’t think it’s an overpay. I think it’s the perfect number. I don’t think it’s too high or too low. I think it fits perfectly based on what he has done and where he is going to go… I think it’s a win-win for Purdy. It’s a win-win for the organization. When you look at the quarterbacks above him, he’s done just the same amount of stuff that everyone else on that list has done, really Joe Burrow and Jared Goff, because Joe Burrow and Jared Goff have been to a Super Bowl, and they’ve both been to two championship games, the exact same thing that Brock Purdy has done.” Chase Daniel said about Brock Purdy’s contract on ‘The Facility’.

25-year-old Brock Purdy has been playing for the San Francisco 49ers since 2022 after being selected as the 262nd pick in the seventh round of the draft. Before the league, Purdy played college football for the Iowa State Cyclones. From being labeled ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ after the draft, Purdy quickly rose up to establish himself as a strong pillar in the San Francisco 49ers roster.
Brock Purdy And San Francisco 49ers To Meet Seattle Seahawks In Season-Opener
In other news, Brock Purdy and the rest of the San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to lock horns with the Seattle Seahawks in the first game of their 2025 NFL season. Before meeting the Seahawks in action, the 49ers will get their heart-rates pumping with a preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
In the 2024 NFL season, Purdy and the rest of the 49ers finished at the bottom of the NFC West after winning six games and losing 11. San Francisco played their final game of the season against the Arizona Cardinals, losing 47-24. After making many calculated moves during the offseason, the Seahawks will be hoping to do better in the upcoming football season.
