In an electrifying ending on Monday Night Football, New York Jets’ Xavier Gipson returned a punt to secure the New York Jets a thrilling win in week 1 against their divisional rival, the Buffalo Bills. Gipson broke ankles, tackles, and followed his blocks perfectly to get the walk off win in overtime.

The Jets beat the Bills with a final score of 22-16 in overtime, in an absolutely electrifying performance on Monday Night Football. With both defenses being the standout in this one, the game ends on a special team miracle in the Meadowlands.
The Buffalo Bills must be in shambles after that loss, after Josh Allen led his team down field to kick the game winning field goal to force overtime. The Bills’ offense struggles throughout the night, with Josh Allen throwing three interceptions, and a crucial fumble in the fourth quarter. Buffalo will go into this week of practice fixing all the problems that they faced during the game.
The defense played very well the entire game until the very end, after Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson threw a game tying touchdown. The special teams unit for Buffalo is what ultimately lost the this game however, as the Bills look to go into week 2 trying to not let this game bother them.
As for the New York Jets, they showed that even without their new star quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, who suffered an ankle injury at the beginning of the game, they can still put up a fight with the top contenders in the NFL, coming up clutch at the end of the game. The offense did struggle for most of the game, once Zach Wilson came in for Rodgers. However, they came in clutch at the very end to tie things up in the fourth quarter.
As for the defense, WOW! They exposed the Bills’ offense, making Josh Allen turn over the ball four times. They held Buffalo at the very end in overtime, forcing a punt, which ultimately led to the game winning return.
