One of my biggest complaints about fantasy analysts, and while we are at it most people, is a lack of accountability. Bill and Rams aside, most fantasy analysts publish picks in articles, on websites, on YouTube, on TikTok, on Twitter, etc. but never review their work, at least for others to see. For anyone who is beginning to follow me on Gridiron, please know I am not one of those.
Mediocrity is not something I aspire to do. Writing well and winning DFS contests is. If I want to get better, then I need to constantly address my process and adapt, otherwise I do not see a path to success. Below is my own personal review of last night’s game between the Bills and Rams, as it pertains to DFS. I am not sure I will be able to do this after every Showdown slate, but I do intend to do this after every Sunday slate.
The Good
- Damn did I make a case for the Bills defense and the Rams lesser offensive line. That being said, I am not overreacting to both. The Bills will be challenged down the road, and McVay and company will figure out how to be better on offense.
- Gabe Davis baby!!!! I own him in every seasonal league I am in and cannot be more excited.
- Cooper Kupp is still solid…..as long as the Rams continue to treat him like he is the only passing target on the team.
- Josh Allen cannot be stopped.
- Jameson Crowder is going to make some clutch plays for this team throughout the season.
The Neutral
- Stefon Diggs did better than I thought. He made the optimal lineup, and while I had plenty of him, I probably should have included him in the captain pool.
- Singletary proved me right as the RB1, but the ball is just going to be spread around to other parts of the offense, including other RBs on this team.
- Henderson did fairly well, but I don’t see how that helps the Rams unless they are playing with a lead.
The Bad
- While I did like the Bills defense, I did not in any way see them as the optimal captain last night. That’s on me…I have issues trusting my gut some times.
- James Cook….OOOF
- Um…why did the Rams sign Allen Robinson? Like seriously, why did they do that if they are going completely ignore him? ARob was an enigma last year in Chicago, and now I am extremely worried he will be one in LA. This will take some digging.
- Higbee is clearly on the back 9 of his career. He may have one game where he scores 2 TDs, but he looked terrible last night.
- Cam Akers is dead to me.
Catch you all for this week’s Sunday slate!!
