For weeks, North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick, 73, and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, 24, have been the talk of college football. Unfortunately, it has not been for his legendary coaching prowess or how he could be luring high-profile recruits to a university football program that has fallen by the wayside in terms of national relevance.
No. Instead, Belichick and Hudson have been fighting public relationship battles due to the beauty pageant contestant’s behavior at his media events and the surprising amount of control that she has over his business pursuits.
Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Have Certainly Shown a Spotlight on North Carolina

When Belichick was first hired by North Carolina, everyone thought he would be bringing his no-nonsense distraction-free style of coaching to the Tar Heels football program. Since then, though, he and his girlfriend have been nothing but a nonsensical distraction.
Eyebrows were first raised in concern to her level of involvement when she was present at North Carolina’s spring practices. As she is not a university employee, many wondered why, exactly, she needed to be there.
But the dam of suspicion burst when CBS aired an interview with the coaching legend, and Hudson could be heard off camera saying, “We’re not going to talk about that,” when Belichick was asked how he met Hudson. CBS later revealed that this interruption was not the first and only one during the interview. As a result of their behavior, the network canceled their already scheduled second interview with the six-time Super Bowl winner.
Former NFL MVP Cam Newton Goes Off on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson

The days and weeks following the interview were filled with criticisms of Belichick and Hudson. But for as much as has been said about the 24-year-old, the legendary head coach has seen much of it come his way for apparently deviating from the principles he once preached to his players.
One of these former players is Cam Newton, who played for Belichick on the New England Patriots in 2020.
“Hate me, despise me, but somebody gotta keep it real, man,” Newton says in a clip for his 4th & 1 podcast (via Awful Announcing). “I find it extremely interesting for a person who’s always led with this: ‘do not be a distraction.’ We’re talking more about Jordon Hudson than talking about who’s our starting quarterback. You can’t name me three players on North Carolina’s roster right now besides Jordon Hudson.
“This ain’t a good look. As a teenager, can I compartmentalize this person as being my coach and take heed to what he’s saying and be able to not throw that back at him and say, ‘man, what you know, coach? Hey, you got girl problems just like me, huh?’”
These are certainly valid questions, ones that the Tar Heels will soon see answered when their season begins.
