Big Players the Chicago Bears Should Address in the 2024 Free Agency

The Chicago Bears have a lot to process in the offseason. Not only do they have to consider the possibility of replacing Justin Fields, but much of the roster also needs a major touchup.

The task of finding the right pieces that could fit their team is going to be a tough one, and not every free agent will want to sign for a team that has an uncertain future.

However, targeting the right players who will want to play for them should help make them a little more competitive in the NFC North. We’ll go over some of the prospective free agents they can target in the offseason.

Free agents the Chicago Bears should target in 2024 free agency

While a lot of Fields’ 44 sacks were his fault, it’s still unacceptable for the Chicago Bears offensive line to just let opposing defenses rock their QB1 that many times. Regardless of who stands under center, he needs a talented man in front of him who can keep him safe for longer.

Miami’s Connor Williams would be a great pickup for the Bears in the offseason. While he was sidelined due to injury in 2023, he was key to letting Tua Tagovailoa do his thing on offense. Moreover, he only had six offensive line penalties during his last full year of play.

    Dorance Armstrong, Dallas Cowboys DE

The Dallas Cowboys boasted one of the strongest pass rushes in the NFL, and Dorance Armstrong was one of the team’s better contributors. Despite only starting one game for the Cowboys, he managed to take down the quarterback 7.5 times.

He’ll be an instant upgrade to a Chicago Bears defensive line that badly needs help. The  Bears were the second-worst team in the NFL when it comes to sacking the quarterback, coming in at a paltry 30.

    Noah Fant, Seattle Seahawks TE

Make no mistake: Noah Fant will not transform the Chicago Bears into world-beaters overnight. He’s not George Kittle or Travis Kelce who can instantly improve the offense with his presence.

However, he had a solid 414 receiving yards on 12.9 yards per reception. He’ll be a fine option to Cole Kmet to make sure either Fields or Caleb Williams will have a reliable pass option at the position.
