The college football landscape could see a legendary NFL coach enter the ranks as Bill Belichick is expected to accept a potential offer.
The UNC Tar Heels have been searching for a new head coach after firing Mack Brown in the middle of the season. Many fans felt that Brown was treated unfairly as the coach was a notable name and had been a part of the program for a long period of time. However, that has not stopped massive candidates from entering their name into the discussion for the new opening with North Carolina.

Belichick, the former New England Patriots coach turned media personality, has attempted to get back into the coaching world after taking time away. Belichick was expected to enter his name into many of the hiring discussions within the NFL, but seemingly has made a decision regarding a collegiate future.
Currently, Belichick is expected to accept the UNC opening should the school extended an offer to the coach. Previously, Belichick asked for a clause to be written into the potential contract that involved his son, who is currently the Washington defensive coordinator, to become the next head coaching in waiting.
However the Tar Heels returned to Belichick and accepted his counter proposal which now places the future into the hands of UNC.

Belichick is certainly not the youngest candidate out there and many Tar Heels fans felt Mack Brown was fired due to his inability to connect with recruits. Hiring Belichick would certainly go against building a potential close connection in terms of recruiting, but would add a winning reputation at the highest levels of play to the program.
I’m sure it’s not a big swath of fans, but can you imagine telling someone that’s a UNC and Patriots fan a few years ago that the Pats QB will be Drake Maye and the Heels coach will be Bill Belichick. 🤯😂😂

Bill Belichick is one year younger than Mac Brown so you’re going from 73 to 72, he may have a sharp mind, but he has not coached in college ever.
