The Chicago Bears are under new management this off-season. Ben Johnson was brought in from the Detroit Lions to revitalize Chicago and put them back on the playoff map. Chicago has been in a slump as a franchise for quite some time now. In fact, since 2013 Chicago has one season above .500 (2018). Johnson intends to change that.
However, fans are questioning one of their most recent decisions.
“Holy Overpay” Fans Absolutely Rip Bears’ Huge Contract Extension Just Before 2025 NFL Draft

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
ESPN source: Bears reached agreement today on a three-year, $40 million extension that includes $31.25 million guaranteed with CB Kyler Gordon.
The deal now makes Gordon the NFL’s highest-paid slot corner and contractually ties him to Chicago through the 2028 season.
