BREAKING: Baltimore Ravens Rookie Sensation Zay Flowers Under Investigation for an Alleged Domestic Assault Incident – 2023-24 Postseason

The Baltimore Ravens finished the season unceremoniously, getting knocked off in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs despite a 13-win season. The offseason hasn’t gotten off on the right foot either, with their star wide receiver making headlines on Thursday. Per multiple sources, including The Baltimore Banner, rookie Zay Flowers is under investigation for an alleged domestic assault incident.

Flowers has not been arrested, but news broke on Thursday that police are investigating him on suspicion of domestic violence. The investigation stems from an incident report involving Flowers within Baltimore County last month. According to The Baltimore Banner, the Action Police Department (in Massachussets) also plays a role in the investigation. Per the report, the Action Police Department will not comment at this time, citing “laws that keep confidential communications between victims and police in cases of domestic violence or sexual assault.”

The Ravens released a statement on the situation surrounding Flowers, saying, “We take these matters seriously and will have no further comment at this time.”

The 22nd overall pick in last year’s draft, Flowers immediately became an elite weapon for quarterback Lamar Jackson. Flowers finished the regular season with 77 catches, 858 yards, and five scores. Baltimore also used him as a rusher, giving him eight carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Flowers trailed only running back Gus Edwards in scrimmage yards and touchdowns. His best game came against the Miami Dolphins on New Year’s Eve, catching three passes for 106 yards and a score in a 56-19.

Flowers continued to show out in the playoffs, catching nine passes for 156 yards and a score. However, the Boston College product fumbled at the goal line and lost against the Kansas City Chiefs, resulting in a touchback. Baltimore lost 17-10, with Jackson also struggling. The MVP quarterback went 20 of 37 for 272 yards and a score with two turnovers.
