The Baltimore Ravens have made it a mission to bolster the cornerback position during the offseason after allowing the second-most passing yards in 2024. The first significant move they made was in late March when they signed Chidobe Awuzie, a nine-year vet and 81-game starter. Awuzie spent the 2024 season with the Tennessee Titans but missed half of the year with a groin injury.

Baltimore Ravens recently added a two-time Pro Bowl

The Ravens signed Jaire Alexander to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. He spent the first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers and made it to two Pro Bowls and two Second-Team All-Pro selections. However, Alexander does have injury concerns, having missed 34 of the last 68 regular-season games over the past four seasons, including ten in 2024, due to a quad and PCL injury.
The team now has four talented and one inexperienced cornerback among their top five at the position. However, since teams generally utilize at most three cornerbacks on any given Sunday, some players may not receive any playing time unless injuries happen. Their 4x Pro Bowler is not concerned about their loaded depth.

During Wednesday’s press conference, Marlon Humphrey was asked about the Ravens signing Jaire Alexander, via Clifton Brown and Ryan Mink of the team’s website. He said that NFL teams cannot have enough cornerbacks on their roster. Humphrey views this as “a great problem to have,” and is excited to have Alexander as part of the secondary.
“A quote that’s never been said and probably will never be said in NFL history is, ‘We got too many corners that can cover,'” Humphrey said, via Brown and Mink. “I think that’s a great problem to have. Really excited for that addition. The options are endless. It’s going to be a fun secondary.
“Great addition. He’s been one of the best in this league since he got in it. To have anybody like that, no matter what position, especially as a DB, it’s super valuable.”
