The Baltimore Ravens clinched the AFC North title with their 35-10 dominating victory over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night. As usual, they were led by two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, who culminated his historic season by completing 16 of 32 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. As he has done all season, Jackson took care of the ball and avoided throwing any interceptions.
Additionally, Jackson added nine carries for 63 yards on the ground. The dual threat quarterback already passed Michael Vick for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback earlier this season, and is showing no signs of slowing down. By the time his career is over, he may have one of the NFL’s most unbreakable records.
Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson Had an Historic Season
With his performance on Saturday night, Jackson ends his 2024 NFL regular season with a 66.7% completion percentage, 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdown passes, just four interceptions, and a 119.6 passer rating.
Additionally, he accumulated 915 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
That gives him 5,087 all-purpose yards and 45 total touchdowns for the year.
Per Bleacher Report, he is also the first player in NFL history to have 4,000 or passing yards and 800 or more rushing yards in a season:
Lamar Jackson was UNREAL this year 😳

As great as his season has been, though, he did fall short of one NFL record that was within his grasp on Saturday.
Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson Could Not Break the Passer Rating Record Held by Aaron Rodgers
Back in 2011, fresh off of his only Super Bowl victory with the Green Bay Packers, current New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a 68.3% completion percentage, 4,643 passing yards, 45 touchdown passes, six interceptions, and a passer rating of 122.5, the single season record.
Going into the game against Cleveland on Saturday night, Jackson had a passer rating of 121.6. However, his passer rating for the game was “just” 92.8, which dropped his season rating down to 119.6.
Jackson knew that the record was within his grasp, but told reporters prior that breaking the record came second to clinching the division title:
“If I’m in my childhood mindset [with] breaking a record, yes,” Jackson said of breaking the record. “But I’m trying to win games, so it really [doesn’t] matter. If it happens, it happens. If it [doesn’t, it] probably will happen sometime down the line.”
As one can see, the two-time NFL MVP has that particular record on his list of career goals. “It will happen sometime down the line,” indicates that he wants it. At just 27 years old, he has plenty of football in front of him.
Another season like this one could potentially break it.
