The Baltimore Ravens have moved on from Justin Tucker, releasing the Super Bowl-winning kicker without mentioning the controversy that many believe was the major reason behind the team’s decision to part ways with him.
Tucker, who is facing allegations of sexual misconduct from 16 women, will have to find work in the NFL elsewhere following the Ravens’ move. As for the Ravens, they are in the process of finding their starting kicker for the 2025 season. The end of Tucker’s time in Baltimore got a major hint when the Ravens used a sixth-round pick on Arizona Wildcats product and kicker Tyler Loop.
The Ravens could still bring in a competition for Loop, but for now, he’s looking like the favorite to win the job. Tucker’s departure leaves a big void in the Ravens’ special teams, but Loop appears to be ready for the challenge.
“Just figuring out what’s going to work to be successful in Baltimore and make kicks and win games,” Loop said, per Clifton Brown of the Ravens’ official website.
“What that looks like is just stacking days and learning and taking input and just competing every day. That’s what I’m going to do. That’s what I’m ready for.”
Is Tyler Loop the next Justin Tucker for the Baltimore Ravens?

Loop played five years in college for the Wildcats. From 2021 to 2023, he made all of his 103 extra-point kick attempts.
In 2024, however, he missed two of his 25 extra-point kicks and went just 18-for-23 on field-goal tries. Nevertheless, the Raves seemed confident in him enough for them to take him in the draft.
“I just thought he was a really talented player. It made sense for us to do that for a lot of different reasons,” Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta said after drafting Loop (via the Associated Press). “We told you guys multiple times this spring that we would look at kickers. So for us it’s like any other position this year. You evaluate all these guys. We felt like he was draftable.”
