There is no other kicker in NFL history than the 89.1% that belongs to [now former] Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. In the course of his 13-year career, he has won a Super Bowl, made seven Pro Bowls, been named First Team All-Pro five times, and is a member of the Hall of Fame’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
And now he is a free agent. On Monday, the Ravens made the decision to release Tucker after many successful seasons with their franchise. However, there is a cloud looming over his head, one that the team has refused to acknowledge.
Justin Tucker Had a Terrible Season for the Baltimore Ravens in 2024

In 2024, Tucker had a season that was well-below the exceptionally high bar he set for himself on the field. His 73.3% field goal percentage last year was, by far, the lowest of his career.
And many NFL fans relished in his struggles because of some serious allegations that were brought against him last year as well.
Like Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson back in Houston, Tucker has been accused of inappropriate behavior and sexual assault by several masseuses that are employed by the Ravens. As if the allegations were not bad enough, Baltimore refused to acknowledge the severity of the accusations and, in the eyes of many, did nothing to hold Tucker accountable for his alleged actions.
Their statement following news of Tucker’s release did not even mention the investigation of his behavior:
“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances. Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker. Justin created many significant and unforgettable moments in Ravens history.
“His reliability, focus, drive, resilience and extraordinary talent made him one of the league’s best kickers for over a decade. We are grateful for Justin’s many contributions while playing for the Ravens. We sincerely wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter of their lives.”
And while Tucker’s on-field accomplishments are noteworthy, many fans are disturbed by the fact that the organization refuses to acknowledge that he failed to live up to their moral code.
NFL Fans Bash the Baltimore Ravens for Calling Justin Tucker’s Release a “Football Decision”

As mentioned, Tucker had a bad season in 2024 with his 73.3% field goal percentage. However, one would have assumed his long track record of success would have given him another chance with the organization.
It did not, and undoubtedly his behavior towards the women employed by the team is a big reason for the release. However, the Ravens refused to acknowledge that:
Over-fawning and tone deaf by a factor of 100. https://t.co/QwpD9hDLtD

This comes across as though Justin Tucker has been released as a matter of medical emergency, not him having over a dozen women accuse him of being nasty. https://t.co/kWrEq5lrcJ

Seems like this should’ve been a pretty easy decision, actually https://t.co/HAYYnvHFCG

Some of these organizations are just totally insincere and the media lets it slide.
This was a football move? Was it really? Or is “football decisions” just intentionally placed there so nobody asks why they drafted Mike Green? https://t.co/9idmiL7SZk

this statement makes clear that Justin Tucker would still be on the team if he was kicking well https://t.co/QAa9TzNZsJ

As many fans on social media have pointed out, if Tucker had not had a down season in 2024, he would still be on the team… despite the things he is accused of doing.
This whole situation is a terrible look for the Ravens organization.
