Baltimore Ravens Trade for Pass Rusher with 16 Sacks in New Urgent Proposal

The Baltimore Ravens are staring down the barrel of desperate times potentially needing to spark desperate measures after falling to 0-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Not only did the Ravens collapse in the second half against the Las Vegas Raiders, dropping a 26-23 heartbreaker, but Baltimore now faces the NFL’s seventh-toughest remaining schedule and a slate of opponents with a .606 winning percentage.

One of the Ravens’ biggest issues Sunday afternoon was the defense folding in the second half, and the fact that Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew passed for 276 yards with one touchdown to one interception.

It may be time for general manager Eric DeCosta and the Ravens to make some big changes with a brutal, but important, stretch of games looming.

Could Baltimore Ravens Trade for Azeez Ojulari?

Baltimore’s next six games may decide the Ravens’ ceiling this season.

Between now and Halloween, the Ravens head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys, play the Buffalo Bills at home, travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals, host Washington, travel to Tampa Bay to take on the surging Buccaneers, and host the Cleveland Browns.

It may become the defining stretch of the Ravens’ 2024 campaign.

Given the Ravens’ issues on a rebuilding defense, and the 0-2 start, Bleacher Report NFL analyst Brad Gagnon suggests the Ravens should try to acquire pass rusher Azeez Ojulari from the New York Giants in a trade.

“The Ravens might have to make a bold move to help out their pass rush,” Gagnon writes for B/R. “If they want to achieve their goals this season. The group was already shallow going into the season before Kyle Van Noy fractured his orbital bone and Adisa Isaac popped up on the injury report this week.

“Trading for Azeez Ojulari, who is in a contract year for a rebuilding Giants team, could give them another young pass-rusher with upside to chase quarterbacks.”

Ojulari has seen his playing time diminish over the past two seasons but still has the traits to be a productiv epass rusher.

Since being chosen by the Giants in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ojulari has logged 16 sacks with 83 total tackles. Ojulari could be a quality depth piece to give the Ravens’ front seven some teeth this season.
