Ryan Poles said from the beginning that he would do right by Justin Fields, and with his trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers, he has done just that. In what many seemed to accept long ago, Fields’ time with the Chicago Bears was coming to an end. With last week’s trade to the the Steel City for a conditional 6th round pick that could turn into a 4th, Poles honored his word and sent the former Bears quarterback to one of the best organizations with one of the best scenarios possible. Ryan Poles relationship with Justin Fields Throughout their time together…

Dear Justin, We knew this time would come even if we hoped it didn’t. At some point we just had to come to terms with the fact that you are never going to play for the Bears again. I thought that when I heard the news that it wouldn’t hurt so much, but it does. Sometimes, knowing that something is going to happen makes things easier; this wasn’t one of those times. So for Bears fans everywhere, I am writing to say thank you. Thank you for making the night of April 29, 2021 one of the best nights of…

The NFL Combine is not for everyone. If you are the typical hardcore football fan who is starving for anything and everything NFL related year-round, then it’s right in your wheelhouse. But if you’re talking to the fan who isn’t quite as David Puddy-fanatical about sport as your are, then you’re going to get some weird looks when you tell them you’ve watched about 15 hours of college players running, jumping, and going through drills for a week in the offseason.  So grab a Twix, because we are about to go from A to Z with all with the winners,…

The Bears traded their 4th round pick (#110) for 6-time Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen, making a huge splash that caught many off guard. Not only will Allen bolster an all-of-a-sudden dangerous offense, but this also gives us a peek into the hand of Ryan Poles, who hasn’t let anyone see his cards thus far. The Bears are down to just four picks in next month’s draft: picks 1 and 9 (both first rounders), pick 75 (third round), and pick 122 (fourth round).  With such little draft capital left, we can be assured that Poles and the Bears aren’t done…

They say if you’re good at something, never do it for free, and Patrick Queen sure isn’t after signing a three year, $41 million deal with the Steelers. He will lead his former foes from Pittsburgh with a clear goal in mind: take back the North. And just like that, Baltimore’s Queen is dead: long live the Queen of Steel. The numbers don’t lie To say this is a big pickup for the Steelers is an understatement. In his four years in the league, Queen averages 113 combined tackles, 74 solo,  and just about 3.5 sacks. Over that span he…

“Hope is not a strategy,” but darn it feels good to be hopeful. Justin Fields gave Chicago Bears fans that feeling since April 29, 2021 when he was drafted in the first round. All Bears fans had the same feeling. The Bears traded up with Fields still on the board, and the wish of getting a superstar quarterback was a now realistic possibility. When they selected him with the 11th overall pick, in our minds, life as a Bears fan was changed forever. We had a legit QB, we had visions of wins, we had visions of Super Bowl rings,…

I can’t unsee it, and I’ll be honest, I’m struggling with it. I know Caleb Williams is good, I really do. Whether watching him play, seeing what the experts are saying, or reading the endless scouting reports online, we all get it. He’s good, maybe great, possibly Mahomes-esqe. Let’s also get this out of the way…I’m one of those that thinks that Fields could win here if the Bears were to stick with him. But more than anything, I root for the laundry, so I just want them to win, so I’ll get on the Williams bandwagon if he has…
