Auburn has had some tough times this season, starting off the year with a 2-2 record, and suffered their first SEC loss last week against Arkansas.
The Tigers have been making changes to their roster through the first four weeks, and right after their Week Two loss to California, they pulled their starting quarterback Payton Thorne, who threw four interceptions.
Auburn benched Thorne for redshirt freshman Hank Brown, but last week against the Razorbacks, Brown had three first-half interceptions, leading him to be benched in the second half and for Thorne to return.
It’s been nothing but musical chairs at Auburn’s quarterback position, and the team they are facing Saturday night, Oklahoma, faces the same issue because last week’s starter, Jackson Arnold, was benched against Tennessee for Michael Hawkins, who will get the start this week.
Many wondered who will start for Auburn this week, and we finally got the answer on Friday afternoon.
Auburn Changes Quarterbacks
Justin Hokanson from On3.com states, “Sources: Payton Thorne is slated to start for Auburn at QB against Oklahoma. It will be his third start of the season after not starting the last two games.”

Auburn needs to do everything it can to keep winning games. They now have zero room for error since they already have two losses, one of which is in the SEC.
The Tigers needed to change back to Thorne after the second half he played against Arkansas because if they had gone back to Brown, they could’ve lost the locker room.
Thorne needs to take the throws that are there and not try to get fancy and force balls into windows that could be intercepted.
It will be interesting to see how Auburn’s offense does against a great Sooners defense on Saturday.
