The Atlanta Falcons had their first team meeting of the 2024 season. Raheem Morris addressed the team for the first time and gave a motivational message about his plan on day one.

First impressions mean everything, especially in the NFL. Raheem Morris addressed the Falcons for the first time today. His message covered his plan for the coaches, staff, and, most importantly, the players.

“Let’s talk about the plan. It’s going to be a team and family environment. I want all of you guys to be able to talk to me. Communicate with me at a high level, man. It’s already started.”

The first and most important message to the team was about the team and family environment. Communication at the highest level. Stressing that, regardless of the occupation people are in, should be a message heard by all.

Today is Day 1 of The Plan 😤

But what else is a part of Morris’s plan?

    The Atlanta Falcons Plan

Morris made some statements that were significant on the Falcons’ first day of their offseason program. Overall, his message outlines “the plan” that he refers to multiple times in his speech.

Raheem has a few statements that should be highlighted:

Everybody is important. I don’t care what you play or what you do for this organization. I want you to have that type of environment, that type of feeling with us.

I want to have a world-class football education. And that is going to come from these coaches. These coaches that I brought in, I have a lot of respect, and I believe in them as far as everything we’re talking about from education and standpoint of all the stuff that you guys want in order for us to be the best that we could possibly be every single day.

Morris goes on to address personal development and mental health. He tells players he can find a way to address anything they need help with. They are attacking any issue they have and giving support to players when they need it.

Morris also spoke about community contributions. Morris wants the Falcons to be role models in the community. He points out Grady Jarrett and speaks highly of the amount he has done for the city of Atlanta. Raheem wants players to be accountable for the city in which they live and work.

Morris’s last main point for his opening speech is what they are building for the players. The Falcons can only go as far as the players and the city of Atlanta hopes that these players will buy into Coach Morris’s message.

Morris goes on to speak about the type of team he wants to become: competitive, tough, and physical. He wants to outhustle everyone and outrun the South (referring to the NFC South). Fans are hopeful he can accomplish that.

Reactions to new Atlanta Falcons Head Coach

Fans over social media responded with great enthusiasm to Coach Morris’s message.

I’ll say this: Coach Morris can definitely talk the talk. If he gets this team to buy in and walk the walk, the sky’s the limit.

@kvngxchvloent – “You win the south you get in the playoffs, you make the playoffs you dont know what the f*** can happen” thats real spill. Lets ride dirty birds💯
inclyborne3020 – The energy has shifted
@trevorjohnson5610 – This energy is completely different than Arthur Smith Wow!
@FalconsGirl1 – First day of school ❤ LFG COACH
@kalevin7 – Got me fired up! Hopefully it translates during the season. Rise Up!
    @Ghostup6 – It’s already so much better
@jarvasedundy1 – Damm, Raheem Morris reminds me of Morgan Freeman in Lean On Me movie scene. Where he held the conference for all his teachers staff members and told them. There’s a new boss in town. But doing it more in a clam and open minded way. It’s hard not to like him and how articulate he speaks. I just hope it translates to a winning season since 2017. 🎉🎉
