The Atlanta Falcons had two of the three running back positions filled in, with one vacancy remaining. Bijan Robinson looks to lead the team in rushing, while Tyler Allgeier looks to serve as a reliable complement to the Pro Bowler and assist the offense in short-yardage situations. The Falcons had three players vying for the final spot, including an undrafted free agent.
Atlanta Falcons’ UDFA impressed throughout the summer

The Atlanta Falcons signed running back Nathan Carter as an undrafted free agent in April. He spent the first two years of college with the UConn Huskies and the final two with the Michigan State Spartans. Carter finished his college career rushing for 2,280 yards and 12 touchdowns over 41 games, including 499 yards on 116 attempts and five scores across 12 games in 2024.
The undrafted rookie had an impressive summer and rushed for 85 yards on 16 carries and one touchdown across three preseason games. He gained national attention in the Falcons’ second preseason game, where he led the team in rushing with 63 yards on nine carries and busted for a 43-yard score.
