The Arizona Cardinals and offensive lineman Trystan Colon have agreed to a one-year $1.75 million dollar deal with $450k guaranteed. After not having franchise quarterback Kyler Murray at the beginning of the 2023 season, the Cardinals remain committed to bolstering their offensive line.
Colon Brings Depth to the Arizona Cardinals Offensive Line
In 2023 Trystan Colon forged his role as a depth offensive lineman in a unit that played well during the final stretch of the regular season. Appearing in 14 games, including 4 starts, primarily at left guard, Colon was an effective pass blocker for the Cardinals, posting a 69.2 pass block grade per PFF’s player grades. With Colon’s team friendly $1.75 million dollar deal this move gives the Cardinals a player they can trust if a starter were to go down with an injury, while also providing the flexibility to continue to add to the trenches.
Going forward I would expect the Cardinals to continue to add to their offensive line, especially with their large draft capital. The Arizona Cardinals have 6 picks in the first 90 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft. Last year the Cardinals spent the 6th overall pick on Ohio State tackle Paris Johnson Jr. With two 1st round picks in this upcoming draft, there is a strong possibility the Cardinals war room will decide to us one on an offensive lineman.
