“Are The Team To Watch”: NFL Insider Makes Draft Day Prediction For the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night. The Jaguars are one of those teams that could surprise people in the draft.

They could be doing something special with that selection on Thursday. Will they go with someone on defense, or will Jacksonville make an offensive splash? One NFL analyst weighs on in what Jacksonville could potentially do.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport Claims the Jacksonville Jaguars are the Team To Watch For In the Draft

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport went onto the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday. The show was held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rapoport said,

It is going to be interesting to see what move the Jaguars will want to make. Could they move up from either five to two with the Cleveland Browns or five to three with the New York Giants for a player like Abdul Carter, edge rusher from the Penn State Nittany Lions or cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter from the Colorado Buffaloes? That would be a surprise.

The Jaguars could shock people and take either Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty fifth overall. They already have Travis Etienne Jr. at running back. Jacksonville could also select wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan from the Arizona Wildcats to pair up with wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

With Liam Coen being the head coach, he will look to get help for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He was the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024 and helped quarterback Baker Mayfield well.

Also, the Jaguars could shock the NFL world and either trade back with the Las Vegas Raiders sixth overall or the Chicago Bears 10th overall. General manager James Gladstone will have some critical decisions to make. The Bears may want Jeanty really badly. There is a great chance that Chicago offers Jacksonville a trade that they can’t refuse. This could be one of the things that Rapoport watches out for in the NFL Draft on Thursday night also.
