Antonio Pierce is worried about Mike Evans ahead of the NFL Week 14 clash between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pierce, who is the current head coach for the Raiders, discussed this in a recent press conference. The Las Vegas Raiders are not doing too well at this point in the season with two wins and ten defeats.
In their previous matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders took on the Kansas City Chiefs and lost the game with a final score of 19-17. Against the Chiefs, Las Vegas’ QB Aidan O’Connell went for 340 yards, completing 23 passes out of 25, scoring twice. In terms of rushing, Sincere McCormick managed 12 carries for 64 yards, while Brock Bowers defended the team with ten receptions for 140 yards.
“Mike Evans is a problem. That’s a big human being at wide receiver.” Antonio Pierce said in the press conference.
In his most recent appearance, Mike Evans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the Carolina Panthers. In that game, Tampa Bay won the game 26-23, after QB Baker Mayfield attempted 33 passes and completed 21 for 235 yards. Mike Evans led the defense with eight receptions for 118 yards, scoring once.
Mike Evans Calls QB Mayfield A Psycho For Weird Pre-Game Routine
Meanwhile, Mike Evans, who is usually quite respectful of quarterback Baker Mayfield, recently called him a psycho for his frankly unconventional pre-game routine. While it is true that every player has their own pre-game routine, which can sometimes be strange, Mayfield may have gone to another level.
Apparently, Mayfield prefers smelling salts prior to playing any game. Smelling salts contain ammonia, which basically slaps your senses awake. However, this habit is not common among players or athletes, and can bring on strange looks from others. Evans went on to say that he has never met a quarterback who does this, in an episode of ‘Against the Wind’.
Inspired by Mayfield, Evans has also tried smelling salts before a game. However, the wide receiver did not like it one bit. Evans went on to say that he ‘hated it’ and that ‘it sucks’, while Mayfield remarked that he liked it.
While smelling salts are definitely one way to go if you want to arouse your physiological state, one should be careful while using them. Smelling salts can cause respiratory issues, while even triggering certain allergic reactions in some people.
